Thanks for your comment, Joe.

Glad to know you're coming. Come prepared to make some noise!

A friend of the family is getting married at Snug Harbor this summer. Both the wedding and the reception will be on site, and I have no doubt it will be a beautiful occassion. But who hosts these events? I was under the impression that Snug Harbor is a public facility. Are the board members acting out some Robert Moses fantasy, playing up their public service, while shelling out extremely lucrative contracts to friends and contributors? Your posts in recent days have been a real eye opener on the issue.

Just as an addendum, I've spent 19 of my 22 years on Staten Island. I've never been to Snug Harbor before. But I just might need to attend the Cacophony event tomorrow. It sounds like a blast.

Agreed.

What's also terrible is what HASN'T been happening INSIDE all the buildings there--like, maybe some real art production, exhibition and performance.

Of very expen$ive wedding$, however, there'$ no $hortage.

Thanks for your comment, Bill.

Terrible what has been happening there. Still one of New York City's finest outdoor spaces, though, along with the Brooklyn Brighton boardwalk, Rockefeller Center, etc
