LOOK CLOSELY, BEFORE IT DISAPPEARS
Our house is built into a hill, so the garden is a full story below the main floor and consists of two levels.
Every day in early April, far from our window and often out of our sight, something erupts out of the ground, buds, or flowers. In order to witness a few of these moment-to-moment changes, I have to visit the garden now--before a progressively warmer sun causes an explosion of color and form that's nearly impossible to take in fully. What you view at dusk can change completely by morning.
Here's what my camera recorded yesterday, Wednesday, April 8, 2009.
